A day trip reaches every viewpoint at its busiest hour: boat at seven, two coasts in seven hours, boat home at four. Two nights on the island let us time each place for its light and its quiet.
You cross in the morning, settle in, and see Broken Beach as the day tours leave. The next morning you are at Kelingking before six, then out on a private boat to the mantas while the day-trippers are still crossing. On the last morning the east coast is yours at sunrise, and you are back in Bali by mid-afternoon.
Afternoons are left open. Most guests spend them by the pool.
Nusa Penida has only a handful of truly high-end places to stay, and they fill early. If none suits your dates, we will tell you before you pay and suggest a base on Nusa Lembongan, which has more choice and is 15 minutes away by boat.
