Nusa Lembongan and its small neighbour Nusa Ceningan are joined by a footbridge and small enough to cross in a morning. This walk is for guests staying on Lembongan, and it covers the islands' working side as well as the views.
We start in the mangrove forest on Lembongan's north-east shore, where a local boatman poles you through the channels in a flat punt. There is no engine noise, and the roots close in overhead in places.
Then to the channel between the two islands, where families farm seaweed on the shallows. If the tide is low, you will see them working the plots.
You cross the Yellow Bridge to Ceningan on foot and walk to the Blue Lagoon, a cove of deep water under low cliffs. Some visitors jump from the ledges there; we don't organise it, because the landing changes with the tide and swell.
Back on Lembongan, Devil's Tear is a rock cove where the swell bursts up in spray. Stand behind the markers: people have been swept off these rocks.
Brunch is at a beach club above Sandy Bay.
